The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) campus and medical center at Parnassus Heights (photo at right) is a pleasant 1.9 mile walk from Congregation Adath Israel. Many UCSF faculty, residents, fellows, post-docs, and graduate students daven at Adath Israel and commute daily to UCSF by foot or via the N-Judah street car line (10 minutes) or the 71-Noriega Street bus (15 minutes). The eastern edge of the Sunset District eruv is 15 blocks away from campus.
Congregation Adath Israel is a welcoming community for for UCSF afiliates. Many members of the shul work at UCSF and are happy to talk with applicants who are coming to town to interview at UCSF. Feel free to contact the people below with specific questions about working at UCSF and being part of the Orthodox community.
