Judaism Today

Usually, I would not share with you the perspective of Avram Mlotek, whose positions are typically far to my left (nor would I share perspectives that are far to my right). However, he wrote an article that originally appeared in the New York Jewish Week titled “How a ‘wokestorm’ is misleading a generation about Israel,” where he challenges his friends’ positions on Israel. The points he makes are quite valid and worth reading in Blog #1. Plus, Rambam taught “accept the truth from he/she who has said it.” Following that in Blog #2 is a long article by R. Yitzchok Adlerstein, a senior staff member at the Simon Wiesenthal Center. R. Adlerstein argues that based on the results of the new Pew Study and the reaction of some in the Jewish community to the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, a new type of Jew has evolved. He claims that this new type of Jew does not bode well for the future of Judaism in America. He concludes with some suggestions to help the situation that are very relevant to us in San Francisco.
