Children are welcome at Adath Israel on Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Yom Tov, and Shabbat. Please see below for information that parents must know when they bring their children.
Every Shabbat we have a large play area for children to play and parents to have an impropmtu Shabbat playdate. Babysitting is available from 9:30-12:30 PM, as they run a fun and educational playgroup for children ages 0-5. It's a great way to get children comfortable and excited to come to Shul. All children are invited to go up to the Bimah at the end of Davening and kiss the Torah!
Truly one of the greatest joys of any shul is the energy and involvement of children of all ages. At Adath Israel we are blessed to have many families. We are proud to announce that this year for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Saturday mornings thereafter Adath Israel will offer childcare during much of the service to allow parents to participate in the sanctuary and provide a safe and enriching environment for their children.
For our childcare to function, there are several important guidelines parents must know.
- Children will be divided by age, with those 5 and under downstairs in the baby and toddler room off the social hall, and those 6 years and older in the social hall.
- Children are not permitted to play outside of the organized childcare.
- Children who do not wish to participate must read quietly, join their parents in the sanctuary, or otherwise be accompanied by a parent.
- Parents will be notified during services if they must attend to their child.
